Hochgehrte gnädige Frau !
Please forgive me if I write English
which I know you will read much
easier than my bad German.
It was so very kind of you to write
to me, and I am so pleased and
surprised to know that you remember
me at all!
Strange to say I dreamed of you and
of Herr von Rosthorn just 8 days before
your letter arrived, and as your letter
went to London first it must have
been about the time you were writing.
Yes, it seems so long since I was in
Vienna, but my heart is always there
with the brave "Siedlern", and I follow
all their doings with interest. Several
of them wrote to me at Christmas, and
I had a nice letter from Oberst Schusswohl
Obmann of the Militärgagisten (Siedlung
Westende) at Hütteldorf. I was so glad
to be able to give conferences in England
